North Region Junior football is aiming to restart on Saturday 21st November.
No competitive action has taken place since the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic forced a shut down on the 13th of March, but now season 2020-21 will kick off with a regionalised league cup competition, which will allow clubs to return to competitive football and minimise travelling distance while there is no access to changing facilities.
30 clubs will return to action, with them split regionally into eight groups with the clubs playing each other twice and the group winners going through to a knock-out stage, which will take place in the spring of 2021.
The regionalised groups are:
West
Group 1: Burghead Thistle, Dufftown, Islavale, Nairn St Ninian
Group 2: Deveronside, Forres Thistle, New Elgin, Whitehills
Banff and Buchan
Group 1: Buchanhaven Hearts, Colony Park, Cruden Bay, Maud
Group 2: Ellon United, Fraserburgh United, Longside, Rothie Rovers
Aberdeen
Group 1: Aberdeen University, Hall Russell United, Hermes, Stonehaven
Group 2: Aberdeen East End, Banks o’ Dee, Newmachar United, Sunnybank
Group 3: Bridge of Don Thistle, Culter, Stoneywood Parkvale
Group 4: Banchory St Ternan, Dyce Juniors, Glentanar
It is hoped that a return to competitive league action will take place in January 2021, with the clubs again split regionally to minimise travelling.
