Bill Cruickshank passed away yesterday at the age of 80 after a long struggle with his health.
Bill Cruickshank had a 43 year association with Islavale both as a committee member & many years as president. He served the now defunct North section junior league as a club rep with again a two year stint as president. When the North & East(Aberdeen) sections amalgamated to form the North Region Bill served on the management committee both as a club rep & again a two year post as president. He also represented the North Region when the North/Tayside Region was formed. Bill had the honour of being elected their second president. Mr Islavale served three years as the North Region rep on the Scottish Junior FA management committee, also being elected as a member of the Scottish Junior International committee for a short spell. Bill was always first to either congratulate or commiserate after a game. Junior football has lost a great man, Islavale have lost a legend.
